Taking the Time to Smell the Roses

Welcome!
Have you ever stopped what you were doing in your busy life and taken a look around?

Everywhere you look, people are rushing around with worried, stressed-out looks on their faces. They're sitting in traffic, watching the time go by, and getting upset because the person in front of them just cut them off or is driving too slowly. They're gonna be late for dinner or their next appointment.
Do you wish you had more time in a day?

I know I get caught up in my fast-paced lifestyle - many things to do and very little time to do them. Many times, I have come home at the end of the week, sat down and wondered how another week went by so fast.  Another month, year. The time seems to pass so quickly. I spend time on Sundays for self-care, but I find that sometimes one day is not enough to keep up with the stress of everyday life.

I've decided to slow things down a bit more.
I am taking an hour per day out of my busy schedule and letting it be about me. Whether I read a book, go for a run, or spend time on a new recipe, I allow myself that time to relax, recharge, and enjoy my life.

In the past, I've let myself get caught up in the wants and needs of others and have neglected myself. It's easy to do. It happens so gradually that I don't even realize it's happening. Before I know it, I'm all tied up in knots worried about someone else's life that I haven't taken any time for me.

What things do you do to slow down and appreciate your life?
